Great portrait of a seven year old. This is Roy Holloway in 1954. Expect picture was taken prior to UK departure as the children were pre-fitted with Fairbridge tie and very un-Fairbridge clobber (which generally disappeared without trace upon arrival)! Not sure what's going on here but it looks like some Fairbridge staff are engrossed with setting up something. Suggest late 1950's. Swimming carnival sometime in the late 1950's. The bridge over the river was constructed after mid-50's floods in mid-late 1950's. Up on the bridge in the white hat is Commander Buckee. This place didn't change over the next 20-30 years.
